Trial set for Gainesville felon indicted by grand jury

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A grand jury indicted a Gainesville felon, and he faces charges including methamphetamine distribution, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida John P. Heekin announced on Wednesday.

Officials say the trial for Eddie Jerome Scott, 38, of Gainesville, is scheduled for March 25, 2026, at 8:30 am.
