Man receives two life sentences after pleading no contest in cold case murder

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – An Alachua County judge handed down two life sentences in a murder case TV20’s been covering since 2010.

Timothy Thomas, 35, pleaded no contest to armed burglary and murder in connection with the death of Sebastian Ochsenius.

Ochsenius, a Buchholz High School student, was just 16 at the time of the shooting. Investigators say he was in his bedroom playing video games before walking to the kitchen, where Thomas shot him. Thomas drove to Gainesville with the intention of robbing a drug house, but accidentally went to the wrong address…
