GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — HCA Healthcare introduced a new air medical route based in Chiefland as the company expands infrastructure and services. A new hospital is set to open in Gainesville this spring.
HCA Florida Airlife began transporting patients on the new route last week. The helicopters will be based in Chiefland and will primarily serve trauma patients from Levy and Gilchrist counties and beyond.
“Their air ambulance division coming to our county; it’s going to enhance our healthcare, and citizens are really happy to have it in Levy County and the surrounding counties,” Levy County Commissioner Johnny Hiers said. “We’re looking forward to a great future and a good partnership.”…
