Earleton family says son saved them from house fire, working to get back on their feet

EARLETON, Fla. (WCJB) – An Earleton family is mourning the loss of their home, which caught on fire a week ago. Now, they’re trying to figure out how to begin again.

Last Thursday was a normal day for the Cadys inside their home near Melrose until around 3 a.m., when their 12-year-old son told them the house was on fire and they needed to get out. They ran out with only the clothes on their backs to a field, watching their home burn down.

“As fast as it spread, I don’t think they would’ve had another five minutes,” Victor Cady said…
