MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol announced that a fatal crash occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, on U.S. 27 just west of NW 160th Ave.
According to the FHP report, a sedan was traveling northbound on U.S. 27 in the outside lane when it rear-ended a large farm tractor heading the same direction in the same lane. Both occupants of the sedan were transported to an area hospital, where the 73-year-old passenger was later pronounced deceased. The 69-year-old driver suffered critical injuries.
