Man arrested 17 years after deadly DUI crash on I-75

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) — A man is in custody 17 years after Florida Highway Patrol troopers say he was involved in a deadly DUI crash in Marion County on Interstate 75.

FHP troopers say Joe Johnson, now 75, killed his brother after losing control of his vehicle on I-75 and hitting a culvert.

A warrant for Johnson’s arrest was issued in June 2009. He was arrested on a warrant in Bristol, Connecticut, in December 2025 and extradited to the Marion County Jail in February 2026…
