Jones found guilty of manslaughter in 2022 shooting of grandfather

Mike Anthony Jones Jr’s first trial in February ended in a hung jury after jurors deliberated for more than 10 hours before the judge declared a mistrial.

Jurors in Jones’ second trial, which began April 20 with jury selection, took considerably less time to decide the fate of the 26‑year‑old, finding him guilty of manslaughter with a firearm — a lesser offense — in the December 2022 death of his grandfather, William Pray.
