A 64-year-old woman was killed after she attempted to overtake a vehicle on State Road 40 in Marion County and crashed head-on into another vehicle, leaving the other driver with serious injuries.
The fatal accident, which temporarily closed lanes on the roadway, took place near the intersection of State Road 40 and State Road 19 at around 8:57 a.m. on Friday, April 24.
