Hawthorne man arrested for throwing newborn kittens in trash; deputies say 4 died

HAWTHORNE, Fla. (WCJB) – Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man accused of throwing away newborn kittens, resulting in many of the animals’ deaths.

Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies say they responded to a home in Hawthorne on Saturday on reports that Tyler Holtz, 36, placed kittens in a trash can.

The witness who reported the incident told deputies she heard kittens whining from inside the can. She removed two trash bags and found five kittens inside…
