Motorcyclist seriously injured after hitting median at high speed

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 55-year-old male was seriously injured today in a motorcycle crash on North Main Street.

According to a Gainesville Police Department spokesman, the motorcycle was traveling northbound at high speed on North Main Street between NW 16th Avenue and NW 23rd Avenue when the motorcycle struck the median and the motorcyclist lost control. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe head trauma, but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening…
