Spruce Creeker convicted of two DUIs jailed after skipping screening

A Spruce Creeker convicted of two drunk driving charges has been jailed after skipping a mandatory screening.

Jane Heroux, 73, of Spruce Creek South in Summerfield, was booked early Friday morning at the Marion County Jail on a probation violation.

She was found guilty in January on a charge of driving under the influence after she had crashed her golf cart with a blood alcohol level four times the legal limit. She was placed on probation but failed to complete a random drug and alcohol screen in March. She also failed to provide proof of a court-order alcohol evaluation and did not provide proof of her community service hours.

While that case was pending in court, Heroux was arrested on another DUI charge after she got lost in her golf cart in The Villages. She admitted she had been sipping wine at Applebee’s prior to that arrest. She was placed on probation in that case, too…
