ALACHUA, Fla. – Alachua County Growth Management Director Jeffrey Hays has confirmed that the site that was previously marketed as a site suitable for a high-megawatt data center is in the unincorporated county, not in the City of Alachua.
After an outcry from residents, the real estate agent appears to have removed the language that indicated the site would be suitable for a data center. The property was originally marketed as a “data center development site”; the URL slug for the listing still includes “high-megawatt-data-center-development-site,” but the heading now markets the property as an “industrial redevelopment opportunity.”…
