Given their bulky size and weight, Mesa trash trucks are no strangers to wrecking property and causing injuries and even death.
But Mesa City Council took steps last week to increase safety by approving $480,320 to implement an AI-enabled camera system. The item was on the consent agenda and approved without comment as it was discussed in detail the week prior.
