Man electrocuted, critically injured after tampering with Mesa utility equipment

A man was electrocuted while tampering with utility equipment in the East Valley on Sunday, leaving him critically injured, authorities said.

The man, whose name has not been made public, gained access to a Salt River Project electrical substation in the area of Everton Terrace and Elliot Road, according to the Mesa Police Department.
