18-year-old suspect in south Phoenix murder case arrested in Tucson

An 18-year-old murder suspect was arrested in Tucson on Tuesday, a month after he allegedly gunned a man down outside a south Phoenix home, authorities said.

Jeremy Banegas was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail in Phoenix for first-degree murder and discharging a firearm within city limits, according to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office records. His bond was set at $1.5 million.

Banegas is accused of killing 43-year-old Eddie Carrillo on May 20, according to the Phoenix Police Department…
