PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Crews have begun construction on an 11-mile stretch of Interstate 10 between Loop 202 and the Gila River as part of a project to expand the corridor between Phoenix and Casa Grande.
The work is the third of four segments in the 26-mile I-10 Wild Horse Pass Corridor Project. Crews will add a third general-purpose lane in each direction and a high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane between Loop 202 and Riggs Road.
The project also includes rebuilding interchanges at Wild Horse Pass Boulevard, Riggs Road and Queen Creek Road/State Route 347 and building a new interchange at Koli Road. Crews will install overhead message boards, freeway cameras and wrong-way detection systems…
