MESA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A major Mesa intersection is closed after a large apartment fire sent at least one person to the hospital. According to the Mesa Fire Department, crews responded just before 8 a.m. to the area of Broadway and Gilbert Roads. When firefighters arrived, they found a first-floor unit filled with heavy smoke and fire. One person was rushed to the hospital after being injured in the fire, but their extent of injuries is not yet known.
