Phoenix-Area I-10 Lane Restrictions and Freeway Closures This Weekend

PHOENIX – Motorists should prepare for lane restrictions and closures along several Phoenix-area freeways this weekend, Aug. 23-26, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

The restrictions include lane closures on Interstate 10 near the Broadway Curve as part of ongoing improvement projects. ADOT advises drivers to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes during these closures.

Key Closures and Restrictions:

I-10 Broadway Curve: Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two or three lanes between US 60 (Superstition Freeway) and 24th Street near Sky Harbor Airport from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m.

Monday, Aug. 26, for the Broadway Curve Improvement Project. Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes between Broadway Road and US 60, with Broadway Road closed between 48th and 55th streets, according to ADOT.

The I-10 on- and off-ramps at Broadway Road and 52nd Street at Broadway Road will also be closed. ADOT recommends considering the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway as an alternate route.
