McDowell Mountain Elementary School and the Fountain Hills High School pom team is organizing the Little Pommies Cheer Clinic. Kindergarten to fifth grade students in Fountain Hills will have the chance to perform with the FHHS pom team during the high school basketball home game on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m.
“Yes, the Fountain Hills High School Pom Team puts on a fundraiser to raise money for the team. The cheer clinic is for elementary grade students K-5th. The students take a two hour clinic to learn cheers and a halftime performance. The students then get the opportunity to perform during a varsity basketball game during halftime,” said McDowell Mountain Elementary School teacher Gillian Levin .
There will be a clinic practice Saturday, Jan. 11, in the high school gymnasium. The Little Pommies will do practice cheers and routines with the pom team from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. To participate in the Little Pommies Cheer Clinic, it will cost $25 per student.
