An Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper is facing a hospital stay after a collision on Wednesday night. The trooper was rear-ended by a truck driver, suspected to be under the influence, along Interstate 10, as detailed by 12News.
The incident occurred while the trooper sat parked on a dirt shoulder some 20 feet away from the roadway, busy filling out paperwork near Verrado Way. It was then that a white Dodge RAM truck, pulling a vehicle trailer, veered off the road and crashed into the patrol car. The force of the collision was such that it propelled the trooper’s vehicle about 60 feet further, according to the report shared by DPS via social media. Despite emergency responders taking him to the hospital for possible head injuries, where he continues his recovery, DPS commented that the situation could have been much worse if the trooper had been inside one of their smaller patrol vehicles…
