MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s a view that draws people from all over the country: wild horses roaming along the Salt River. However, sights like that may soon be more difficult to find.
“We want every horse born on the Salt River to be able to live out their lives on the river,” said Simone Netherlands, the president of the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group.
Their contract with the state to look after the horses is set to expire in May. They, along with any other group, have the chance to apply for a new contract with the state. However, a significant change is coming from the state, causing concern in the community…
