Two Phoenix men, Osvaldo Campa, 22, and Pablo Manuel Escobar Castillo, 20, are facing serious charges following a string of armed robberies across north Phoenix. The men’s alleged spree of violent confrontations unfolded with a methodology that saw employees and patrons confronted with firearms, culminating in the theft of cash and personal belongings. On one fateful evening, two separate incidents saw these men allegedly terrorize local businesses, with the first occurring around 8:33 p.m. at a Mexican restaurant near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, and the second around 9:35 p.m. facing a taqueria in the vicinity of Bell and Cave Creek Roads. Caught on video donning masks and wielding a gun was the suspect, detailed in statements obtained by Arizona’s Family, pointed out how the suspect employed colored clothing as part of their disguise.
The most chilling elements of their alleged crimes are perhaps best exemplified by an incident involving a food truck, where surveillance captured face-masked individuals threatening patrons at gunpoint. These visual testimonies, coupled with the work of detectives, enabled police to make the connection between the incidents and eventually to Campa and Castillo.
