The city of Chandler announces the completion of a major expansion of the Tumbleweed Recreation Center, adding 11,000 square feet of new space designed to enhance community engagement and support multi-generational programming, according to a news release.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Saturday, May 17, 9 a.m. to celebrate the expansion, followed by an open house until noon. Residents are invited to explore the new facility, participate in fitness demonstrations, visit vendor tables, enjoy hands-on activities and enter raffles for fun giveaways.
Located on the east side of the existing facility, the new addition features a fitness room, craft studio, a dividable classroom, events hall, game area, restrooms, lobby and reception area, two shaded patios, and a separate entrance from the existing rec center.
