Gilbert’s Heritage District Breaks Ground on Heritage Park, Promising New Living and Retail Options by 2027

Groundbreaking has officially commenced on Heritage Park, a notable addition to Gilbert’s Heritage District, which is set to introduce new living spaces, eateries, retail options, and an urbane town square to the heart of downtown Gilbert. According to details released by the Town of Gilbert, the 10-acre mixed-use development is spearheaded by Crescent Communities and Creation, encompassing a full city block at the cross streets of Gilbert Road and Juniper Avenue.

The initial foray into this expansive project includes plans for close to 47,000 square feet of space set aside for retail shops and restaurants, with NOVEL Heritage Park housing 288 residential units; on top of which, the development will offer more than 300 surface parking spaces and a public square, complete with water features, mature landscaping, public art pieces, and pathways conducive to both walking and biking. As Creation’s co-founder, David Sellers, told the Town of Gilbert, their concerted efforts reflect the determination to build an iconic entryway to Gilbert’s Heritage District, “one that enhances quality of life, celebrates local culture and offers an exceptional experience for both residents and visitors.”

Flagship Restaurant Group has secured a sizeable footprint in Heritage Park, notably securing 14,000 square feet to inaugurate three of its dining establishments including Ghost Donkey, Palma, and Blue Sushi Sake Grill that will collectively shape the park’s culinary scene, Meanwhile, conversations persist with more potential tenants to fill out the remaining retail and dining space—details on these are expected to be disclosed in due course.
