The Apache Junction community is reeling from the effects of two separate vehicular accidents that occurred over the weekend, resulting in three fatalities and leaving another person in critical condition. The first incident, described by FOX 10 Phoenix, occurred late Friday night when a wrong-way driver on U.S. 60 near Goldfield Road collided head-on with another vehicle, according to the Superstition Fire & Medical District, leading to the death of one person and critical injuries to another.
The second crash took place in the early hours of Saturday, around 1:35 a.m., at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Buena Vista Drive, resulting in two more deaths. A male and a female within the pick-up truck that crashed into a block wall were transported to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries, as reported by both FOX 10 Phoenix and 12News. The Apache Junction Police Department commented on the incident, saying, “One of the individuals is believed to have been the driver. No suspects are being sought at this time. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those involved.”…
