Mesa Public Schools will eliminate five assistant superintendent positions in the 2026-27 fiscal year in anticipation of a $9 million to $18 million budget shortfall.
The Governing Board on Aug. 14 unanimously approved the proposal, which includes creating two new roles – a chief of academics and a chief of schools.
