PHOENIX, ARIZONA — A 16-year-old boy from Arizona will spend several years behind bars after a violent assault on his teenage girlfriend, whom he beat, strangled, and threatened to kill during a jealous outburst earlier this year.
Troy Aguilar-Olmos, who was 15 at the time of the attack, was sentenced to 3½ years in a state correctional facility by Maricopa County Superior Judge Tracy R. Nadzieja on Wednesday. Aguilar-Olmos pleaded guilty as an adult to two counts of aggravated assault with domestic violence.
Attack Followed Threats to “Shoot and Kill” Victim
According to prosecutors with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, the assault occurred in March 2025 after Aguilar-Olmos became enraged when his girlfriend refused to come out of her home to speak with him.
Authorities said the teenager threatened to “shoot and kill” the victim if she didn’t come outside. When she eventually stepped out, he strangled her, pointed a gun at her back, and repeatedly punched her…
