What is the construction? A new intersection is planned for the area of 35th Avenue and Indian School Road crossing U.S. 60, or Grand Avenue, in Phoenix to improve traffic flow, reduce crashes and reduce vehicle-train collisions.
The plan also includes the removal of the Burlington, Northern and Santa Fe railroad crossings on the southwest side.
The project is projected to cost $399 million, partially funded by a $146.6 million federal grant to address the significant needs at this intersection.
