Gilbert Public Schools Board studies policy on public comment

The Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board is reviewing a series of proposed updates to its meeting policies, including rules governing public comment, executive sessions and emergency meetings, as part of a routine compliance review tied to Arizona’s Open Meeting Law.

Board members discussed the recommendations during a policy work session Jan. 13 after the district’s policy consultant, the Arizona School Risk Retention Trust, suggested revisions to several sections of the district’s governing board policies.
