There’s little left of the Chandler community of Goodyear Townsite, one of two settlements that the tire company built in Arizona during the Great War.
Chandler’s Planning & Zoning Commission is recommending turning another slice of what was once Goodyear into a new housing development, but members want a nod to the area’s history.
“It’s a historic site, so I don’t want to lose that, so people know the history,” said Commission Chair Rick Heumann. “Most people in Chandler have no clue that that was the Goodyear.”…
