Hunt Highway grant bid triggers Gilbert council debate

A staff request to apply for a $1 million federal grant to study improvements to Hunt Highway sparked questions – and one dissenting vote – from the Gilbert Town Council.

Town transportation staff had placed the request on the Feb. 17 consent agenda, seeking a Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
