The contract that Chandler Unified School District pays to a lobbying firm is $16,500 per month. CUSD is not paying all of that on its own, but partners with about 40 districts so that one firm is lobbying lawmakers on behalf of all of them.
But it’s still a lot of money. CUSD’s share comes out to about $30,000 a year, officials said.
And one member of the board is not sure they are getting their money’s worth…
