Volunteers support Arizona students who aged out of foster care

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Hundreds of Arizona teens age out of foster care each year when they turn 18, but community support is helping some continue their education.

Volunteers with Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation recently teamed up with the Subaru Superstore of Chandler. Together, they packed 120 care packages for college students who have aged out of foster care.

The packages will help former foster youth feel remembered and motivated as they study for finals with the school year wrapping up. Each kit contains practical everyday items, inspirational books or journals, along with snacks. The packages also include encouraging letters from community members…
