Goodyear residents will continue receiving senior services through the city of Avondale after the Goodyear City Council unanimously approved a new intergovernmental agreement June 23.
The agreement continues a partnership between the two cities that began in 2014 and provides Goodyear seniors access to congregate meals, home-delivered meals, transportation services and senior programming.
The five-year agreement comes with a significantly higher price tag than previous arrangements. Under the new funding model adopted by Avondale, Goodyear’s annual cost will increase by about $42,000 to $189,000 in fiscal year 2027, with annual increases of 3% for the remainder of the agreement…
