PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Slowly but surely, the monsoon pattern for the Southwest is beginning to take shape. Yes, it’s a little late, but that happens.
In fact, there is some research being done that may, ultimately, indicate the monsoon will be starting “later” and lasting longer into September. That being said, thunderstorms will be evident today in the mountains of easter Arizona, and there’s a chance we could see some outflow boundaries push toward the Valley tonight. That could bring a little blowing dust.
The main weather we have to focus on is the heat. We continue with our First Alert for extreme heat through Thursday. We’re expecting highs in the 113-116 degree range around the Valley…
