MIM is hosting a dynamic lineup of events to share with your audience, ranging from electronic music to the cultural music of India!
Kick off the month on Tuesday, August 4 with our MIM Talk: Cats: Beyond Keyboard Cat and Mr. Mistoffelees. Learn about the ceremonial significance of lions, tigers, and domestic cats in musical traditions from around the world, followed by a gallery getaway tour to see related exhibits.
On Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9, immerse yourself in the world of sound and technology at Celebrate Electronic Music! This two-day event explores the intersection of musicality and the engineering of electronic music through a variety of engaging activities. Experience diverse performances ranging from electronic indie pop to electroacoustic styles and high-energy EDM dance parties. Additionally, the Arizona Science Center will make a special cameo on Sunday for a fun demonstration of how the basic principles of electricity can produce sound, featuring a Van de Graaff generator and a miniature Tesla coil!
