Man Falls Through Ductwork Into North Phoenix Strip Mall, Drone Helps Nab Him

By the time it was over, he had crashed through ductwork into one of the units below and was hauled off to the hospital.

Phoenix police said they responded to the burglary call at the strip mall on Thursday, according to 12News. Officers arriving at the scene found a person on the roof who would not climb down, the outlet reported, citing police. The station reported that police said the suspect then climbed into the building’s ductwork and ultimately fell into one of the strip mall’s units, causing damage to the property in the process.

Drone Assistance Used to Take Suspect Into Custody

Police turned to a drone to help bring the standoff to a close, using the aircraft to assist in taking the suspect into custody, the station’s report states. The man was then transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, per the same account. According to 12News, the suspect had been inside the property illegally.
