For more than half a century, Harry Bonsall Park in Glendale has been known for displaying the city’s F-100D Super Sabre Air Force jet.
It had been used to train young fighter pilots at the nearby Luke Air Force Base in the 1960s before being installed in 1973 at the 17-acre community park at 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
