A tragic occurrence unfolded in a Surprise neighborhood after a three-year-old girl was shot and is now fighting for her life in critical condition. The shooting incident took place on Thursday evening, leading to the arrest of 48-year-old Dariusz Modrzejewski.
According to ABC15, unexpected developments began to transpire just after 6:30 p.m., when police were alerted to a man’s erratic behavior near 184th Avenue and Bell Road. The situation escalated when Modrzejewski himself contacted 9-1-1 and expressed intentions to harm his family. As officers and SWAT team members convened at the home and formed a perimeter, a gunshot resonated from within, prompting immediate entry and the grim discovery of the injured toddler.
