Mother dies after suspected drunken driver crash in Peoria

After two weeks of fighting for her life, Valley woman Abrielle Lopez died after being involved in a suspected drunken driver crash.

Abrielle Lopez and her boyfriend Brian Salinas were involved in the incident near the intersection of Northern and 107th Avenues in Peoria on May 11. Following the crash, Lopez was taken to the hospital with numerous injuries that put her in a medically induced coma, of which she never recovered.

A preliminary investigation showed that the suspected driver was traveling westbound on Northern Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto 107th Avenue. Lopez and Salinas were traveling through the intersection when the collision happened…
