Police identify man accused of ramming Scottsdale officer in stolen Humvee

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Police have released the name of a man accused of intentionally crashing into a parked Scottsdale patrol SUV with a military-style vehicle, leaving an officer with minor injuries.

Lyle Dennis Harmon, Jr. is jailed on charges including aggravated assault on a police officer and aggravated DUI in connection with the incident that happened late last week.

Around 4:30 a.m. last Friday, Aug. 29, Scottsdale police officers were investigating a possible stolen vehicle report in a parking lot near Thomas and Hayden roads. That’s when police say Harmon rammed into the back of a parked patrol SUV with a large Humvee.

The officer who was in the driver’s seat was treated at the scene for minor injuries, while Harmon was transported to a hospital. He was arrested and booked into jail following his release…
