Authorities continue to solicit the public’s assistance in a haunting 2023 hit-and-run case that took the life of motorcyclist Leif Chapin near 36th Street and Cambridge Avenue, with the incident’s grisly reality captured on video, revealing the failure to yield of a 2007 red Nissan Altima before the lethal collision, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

While the vehicle involved was later found abandoned the identity of the driver who navigates behind the specter of anonymity remains elusive, Sergeant Andy Williams expressed the difficulties in piecing together who might have taken the wheel that fateful day, noting the litany of variables with people lending, renting, or borrowing vehicles and the urgent need for an eyewitness, “But what we really need is someone who can say, ‘I saw this individual that day,’ or maybe there’s another camera that recorded it. Someone who can say, ‘I saw this person behind the wheel,’ or ‘I saw who was driving that vehicle at the time,’ in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.
