Aldi will add one of its stores to Southbridge Marketplace in Maricopa. The shopping center is part of a retail project helmed by Thompson Thrift. Its first phase has seen the construction of a 130,000-square-foot Lowe’s Home Improvement Store.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports that the second phase includes about 60,000 square feet of commercial space on seven acres. Along with the new 20,000-square-foot Aldi store, a 20,000-square-foot retail building will be added, along with room for a 10,000-square-foot restaurant. Two 3,000-square-foot buildings—one for retail and the other for restaurants—are also expected to be added.
