Stolen service dog found in Phoenix, police arrest suspect

MESA, Ariz. — Mesa police have reunited a service dog with the animal’s owner after a suspect allegedly stole the pup.

On Oct. 6, officers responded to a local residence after a woman reported her trained service dog had been taken.

Geoffrey Washington, 38, had allegedly asked the woman to take Buddy, the woman’s service dog, for a walk. After allowing him to take the animal, Washington allegedly called several hours later, claiming Buddy was now “ours” and refused to return the animal…
