Arizona governor declares state of emergency after Tempe storm

Gov. Katie Hobbs on Friday joined Maricopa County and Tempe officials in declaring a state of emergency in the city following a storm on Oct. 13.

Hobbs’ declaration, in addition to the other two that came earlier in the week, are needed to be able to move forward to apply for potential federal funding to assisst homeowners and businesses, according to a city release.
