SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — Traffic is moving slowly following a vehicle fire on a West Valley freeway late Tuesday morning.
Just before 11 a.m., firefighters were called to a semi-trailer in the southbound lanes of the Loop 303 just south of Grand Avenue. The driver of the truck had detached the trailer along the shoulder and moved a safe distance away before first responders arrived on scene.
The fire was extinguished moments after fire crews arrived, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety says no one was hurt. DPS reports the trailer was hauling packages, but it’s unclear what sparked the blaze.
As of 1 p.m., two southbound lanes remain blocked as cleanup continues…
