DPS: Arizona driver high on cocaine claims he was being ‘chased’

AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Troopers stopped a Valley man who was allegedly driving while high on cocaine, claiming he was being “chased” by others.

At about 9 p.m. on Saturday, troopers responded to a report of a man who claimed he was being chased by multiple vehicles and told dispatchers he was going to “speed until highway patrol pulled him over.”

Using street cameras and dispatch information, troopers found the man, later identified as 30-year-old Cesar Omar Castillo, driving westbound on Interstate 10 near 107th Avenue in Avondale.

Troopers attempted to pull over Castillo’s speeding vehicle, and AZDPS says he eventually stopped at a gas station near I-10 and Dysart Road in Goodyear…
