Three Tempe teens arrested for stolen cars, $30K in damage

Tempe Police arrested three teenagers this month, connected to a burglary where a stolen car was driven through the front of a local smoke shop, smashing the windows and causing significant damage and loss.

On Nov. 2, just after 3 a.m., officers responded to the ‘Up in Smoke Shop’ at 23 W. Baseline Road after reports of a break-in. Through their investigation, detectives learned a 16-year-old rammed a stolen red Kia into the store’s entrance.

Surveillance video shows the teen getting out of the car, grabbing a cooler from inside the car, and filling it with stolen vape products before running out. He then jumped into a second stolen car—a black Kia—that was parked in the same lot and driven by another teen…
