Teen Recovers After Shooting in Glendale; Prescott Valley Suspects Arrested for Ambush, Multiple Shootings

A teenage boy is recovering after a shooting incident in Glendale on Wednesday evening, as per reports from the local police department. According to information provided by FOX 10 Phoenix, the shooting took place around 7:45 p.m. near the crossroads of 59th and Northern avenues. “Officers arrived and found the gunshot victim, who had non-life-threatening injuries, and was later transported to a local hospital for treatment,” said the police. The suspect has yet to be apprehended, and the investigation continues.

In a separate but potentially connected event, two suspects have been arrested relating to an ambush on law enforcement and a series of shootings in the Prescott Valley area, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office confirmed. The details shared by AZFamily identify the individuals as 21-year-old Alex Heredia-Rivera and an unnamed minor, age 17. They were reportedly involved in an attack on Sunday, in which shots were fired at officers, one round narrowly missing a deputy.

Following the attack, law enforcement located the suspects’ vehicle, a black 2021 Chevy Silverado, from which firearms were seized. Subsequent investigation connected the firearms to earlier violent incidents, including a drive-by shooting on Nov. 15.
