El Mirage police makes arrests after random gunfire on New Year’s Eve

EL MIRAGE, Ariz — Police have made arrests after gunshots were reportedly fired into the air on New Year’s Eve in El Mirage.

On the night of Dec. 31, the El Mirage Police Department responded to the area of El Mirage and Cactus roads after a community member reported hearing gunshots coming from a nearby backyard.

Police obtained a warrant to search a local residence and reported seizing six firearms, eight spent cartridge casings and 500 rounds of live ammunition. Police said two subjects were arrested for allegedly violating Shannon’s Law and other offenses…
